Six Years Later… I’m Finally Taking My Book on Tour

When my seventh book was published, the timing could not have been more surreal.

It launched the very same week California shut down during COVID.

One moment, I was preparing for visibility, speaking engagements, meaningful conversations, and connection…

And then, the world stopped.

A woman with red hair stands in an office looking surprised or concerned while facing someone off camera. Office blinds and desks are visible in the background.

Like so many people, I found myself sitting in the unknown.

Plans paused.
Events disappeared.

Momentum shifted overnight.

And yet, even now, looking back six years later, I realize something important:

Not every dream has the timeline we expect.

The Spirit Behind “Why Not?”

Just weeks before the shutdown, I had hosted a presentation and tasting at the Santa Monica Williams Sonoma store.

And yes… I made multiple plant-based cheesecakes for the event.

Because honestly?

Why not?

Why not create cheesecake without dairy?

Why not rethink what is possible?

Why not challenge assumptions people have simply accepted as “the way things are”?

That spirit became the heartbeat of my book:

Generation Why Not?®

The idea that possibility expands the moment we stop automatically accepting limitation.

What Most Authors Never Realize

Now, some people might think launching a book tour six years after publication is too late.

But that belief is exactly why I’m doing it.

Because this is where so many authors unintentionally stop.

They publish the book.

They have the launch.

Maybe a few interviews.

A handful of social media posts.

And then… the book quietly fades into the background.

But in my experience, the true life of a book begins after the launch.

A woman sits at a vanity desk writing in a notebook with a feather pen. Nearby are a teacup, pink roses, and a copy of the book Generation Why Not? reflected in the mirror.

Not during it.

A book is not simply about selling copies.

A book is a visibility tool.

A positioning tool.

A relationship-building tool.

A thought leadership platform.

Books open doors to conversations, opportunities, partnerships, stages, media appearances, and clients in ways few other things can.

And often, those opportunities unfold over years, not weeks.

This Is Bigger Than a Book Tour

This fall, I am not simply creating a traditional book tour.

I am creating an experience.

Part thought leadership.
Part conversation.
Part inspiration.
Part community.

Completely aligned with the message behind Why Not?

Why not gather extraordinary people in beautiful spaces?

Why not create meaningful conversations instead of transactional “book talks”?

Why not allow a book to evolve into something much bigger than itself?

Because books are not static.

They are living extensions of our voice.

And sometimes, their message arrives exactly when it is meant to.

The Timing Might Finally Be Right

One of the most important lessons entrepreneurship, writing, and life continue to teach me is this:

Delayed does not mean denied.

Sometimes timing is not wrong.

Sometimes it is ripening.

And six years later, I genuinely feel this message landing differently than it would have before.

Maybe because people are asking deeper questions now.

Maybe because we are all craving more meaningful connection.

Or maybe because some ideas need time before the world is ready to fully receive them.

Either way, I have learned to trust that evolution.

A Final Thought

If you are an author, creator, entrepreneur, or thought leader sitting on something you believe may have “missed its moment”…

I want to gently remind you:

Your work still matters.

Your message still has life.

And it may not be too late at all.

In fact…

The timing may finally be perfect.
