No wireless at Starbucks, are you kidding?
Have you ever chosen to “sequester” yourself so you could only focus on one project? That is exactly what I did this last weekend and for the most part, it worked. I say “for the most part” because I didn’t get as much completed as I wanted, but it did “friendly force” me to stay with my project: writing.
I find that “sequestering” myself needs to happen in another city, because it’s too easy to do low priority tasks, like wash the dishes, make the bed and have everything in my home really neat and organized. Really? That only becomes important to me when I’m working on a high priority project…and writing is definitely my high priority for March.
I went to Ventura, Calif and wrote at my favorite Starbucks…it has large tables with nearby electrical outlets and the baristas are actually friendly (not so much in Santa Monica). I feel welcome there and the energy vibe is a good one for me.
I find choosing the right environment is exceedingly important in helping me work on a project. And, as much as I love my home environment overlooking the beautiful Ocean, it is too familiar and too many different things go on there.
At Starbucks in Ventura, it has turned out to be my favorite writing space and therefore, it’s like my bedroom…great for sleeping and having romantic fun…that’s it!
It’s not surprising that I immediately fall asleep when my head hits the pillow. (By the way, just a side note: if you have problems falling asleep or staying asleep…or it’s hard to go back to sleep when you get up to “pee,” please contact me and I would love to help you with your slumber. Sleep is one of those things we think we can borrow, skip, make up or find lost time…not!)
I love how the Universe conspires for me rather than against me. Of course, I want to check my email while I’m here at Starbucks and guess what…I can’t find the Starbucks internet connection…really??
I’ve been to Starbucks all over the world, and today, during my “sequester time,” there is no wireless connection. Might I add, incredulously, that other people here are hooked up to their wireless.
I stopped looking for the connection and started laughing. Of course, there is no connection for me right now, because the Universe is helping me stay focused on my book project. Here’s another purely delicious example of synchronicity.
Did I mention that the book I am working on is based on the 7 Principals of Quantum Synchronicity®?
How is synchronicity showing up for you today…or in the last couple of days. And, how is the Universe “conspiring” on your behalf?
And, might I add…I’m just grateful I did find the Bantum Bagel Bites (little bagel “holes” filled with cream cheese and warmed up…yum)…with a cup of green tea. I figure the healthy green tea will somehow transform the bagel bites into something healthier…ok…just let me believe this for today.
As it is, I only allow myself to indulge in these bagel bites on Fridays. I am finding that during the process of writing my book, I am “craving” comfort food. It completely makes sense when it is raining and cloudy outside.
However, today is a 75 degrees day. Maybe it’s now time for a Spring comfort food like iced green tea and a biscotti?
Done!
Until next time…be Brilliant and Courageous…Why Not?
