✈️When a Flight Delay Feels Like Divine Timing
Not long ago, I was sitting in an airport, watching the dreaded word flash across the screen:
DELAYED.
I had plans. A schedule. A to-do list waiting for me on the other end of that flight.
And in that moment, I felt the familiar urge rise: Can I call? Rebook? Push? Control?
But there was nothing to control. The plane wasn’t going anywhere until it was safe.
So I did the only thing left to do: I sat. I breathed. I trusted.
Control vs. Trust
That delay reminded me of something I see often when professionals are building their brands.
We plan. We strategize. We set deadlines. And yes, those things matter.
But sometimes, what looks like a frustrating pause is really divine timing.
- The client who doesn’t sign right away, because the right one is just around the corner.
- The proposal that feels “late”, because your message still needs refining.
- The book draft that takes longer, because the story that belongs in it hasn’t happened yet.
When We Force
Trying to push before the timing is right often creates resistance.
It happens when we:
- Rush to fill a gap instead of allowing the right opportunity to arrive.
- Say “yes” out of fear instead of alignment.
- Try to control outcomes that need space to unfold.
Just like a plane won’t take off until it’s safe, your brand won’t take off until it’s ready.
Where Are You Forcing?
Here’s the question I asked myself in that airport, and I’ll ask you too:
👉 Where are you forcing control in your business or brand, when trust is what’s really needed?
Because after decades of writing books, coaching leaders, and helping clients refine their message, I’ve learned this:
When you stop forcing and start trusting, clarity shows up.
The right opportunities appear.
And your brand becomes magnetic.
If you’re in a “flight delay” moment right now, waiting, doubting, second-guessing, know this:
You’re not behind.
You’re right on time.
Your role is simply to keep showing up, keep refining your message, and trust that the right doors will open at the right time.
Because they always do.
P.S. If you’re ready to align your message with who you are now, not who you were five years ago, reply with AUDIT and I’ll send you my 7 Brand Puzzle Pieces tool. It’s designed to show you where your brand is strong, where it may be out of sync, and what’s ready to align right now.
